Fat transfer takes (harvests) fat cells from one area of the body (usually tummy or thighs) to another location. It can be used to fill in wrinkles, scars, and other imperfections as well as to plump up the lips or cheeks.
Donor sites may include the abdomen, buttocks, hips, and other areas where fat cells are available. Fat transfer uses living cells from your own body. There is no chance of rejection with this procedure.
Types of surgery include breast defects following lump removals, contour defects following surgery and after trauma and for cosmetic improvements on the face (cheek augmentation, brow, improvements of per orbital (eyelids) area, restoration of volume loss, lip augmentation), hand etc.
Fat grafting procedure starts with harvesting the required amount of fat; this is then prepared and injected carefully into the desired area using tiny incisions.
This procedure takes considerably amount of time.
The time spent with your surgeon before any procedure is as important as the surgery itself.
